Dr. Ayush Dogra is currently working as an Assistant Director–Research, CRIO, Chitkara University, Punjab , India. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering and Technology (ECE) from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in 2011. He received his Master’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Punjabi University, Patiala, in 2013 and Master’s degree in Business Management (MBA) from IGNOU, Delhi (a Central University) in 2015. He completed his Doctorate Degree in Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering from October-2015 to January-2019 at Panjab University. He also served as a CSIR-Nehru Postdoctoral Researcher in Biomedical Applications Unit, at CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organization, Chandigarh. Previously, he held positions as a Junior and Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, UIET, Panjab University, Chandigarh. He has also worked as Post-Doctoral fellow in the Department of Center of Biomedical Engineering at IIT Ropar. Currently, he is conducting postdoctoral research at MIR Labs, USA. His research area focuses on devising a novel and innovative, market-oriented mechanism for medical image fusion. His research areas primarily include image fusion, image enhancement, image registration and image denoising. His pioneering ideas, originating from inventive and free thinking, aim to generate indigenous, affordable software for efficient image fusion, contributing to humanitarian and global welfare. He has published numerous papers (100+) in highly reputed SCI/SCIE/SCOPUS/PUBMED indexed journals and conferences. Currently, he serves as an editorial reviewer for various highly reputed SCI/SCIE and Scopus indexed journals. As of now, he has reviewed around 1300+ manuscripts for more than 140 journals and has also handled 205 manuscripts as an Editor.
He is the recipient of several awards, some of which include:
In addition to the previous accolades, Dr. Ayush Dogra designed a series of optimized medical imaging algorithms for enhanced visualization of various ailments. He presented this work through many SCI/SCIE indexed research publications with high impact factors in a short span of time. He significantly contributed to medical image fusion, designing numerous algorithms for the fusion of osseous and vascular images, achieving high visual quality at much lower cost. Furthermore, he is currently exploring other types of medical modalities. During his doctoral studies, he focused on osseous and vascular-based fusion to enhance the details of vascular structures for detecting stenosis and aneurysm. He is also engaged in enhancing low-dose cardiac (fluoroscopic and stent) images and CT-MR based fusion for detecting various abnormalities. Projects based on osseous and vascular imaging are being conducted with reputed medical colleges. The ongoing project with the medical industry in Chandigarh focuses on improving the quality of low-dose X-ray (Cardiac) images, which holds significant importance for healthcare.
